The Committee on National Security and Defence recommends that the Verkhovna Rada should reject the draft law on amendments to several laws of Ukraine re compliance of procedural and institutional operating principles of the Security Service of Ukraine with the recommendations of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (No. 1402, No. 1466, No. 1713, No. 1722, No. 1755)

The bill (Reg. No. 2045) suggests not refer the fight against corruption and organized crime in the sphere of management and economics to the primary tasks of the special service. It is stipulated to exclude military units from the Security Service of Ukraine system and establish that only government officials can be appointed as Deputy Chairmen of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The people’s deputies, by the majority of votes (8 votes for, 1 – restrained), adopted the decision to recommend that the Verkhovna Rada should reject the bill.
